Tameka is a wife and mom first, a native of Atlanta, and the product of praying parents who gave her the best gift – a personal relationship with Christ.

With an electrical engineering degree from Georgia Tech and a MBA from Mercer University, Tameka is an engineer turned businesswoman.  For the past 24 years, she’s been leading transformative initiatives across various domains including IT, procurement, finance, and HR at The Coca-Cola Company.  Currently, as the Global Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, she ardently cultivates an inclusive culture, advocates for diversity, and embeds equity into every facet of the organization.

Firmly believing that to whom much is given, much is required, Tameka actively serves on the boards of the Global Village Project, a school for refugee girls whose education has been interrupted, and the Greater Women’s Business Council, an organization championing women-owned businesses and gender equality.  Recently appointed to the City of Atlanta’s Office of the Mayor Women’s Advisory Council, she seeks to shape policy and direct resources toward initiatives that empower women, while also honoring the indelible contributions of Atlanta’s pioneering women.

Outside of her professional and philanthropic endeavors, you can find her reading a good book, spending quality time with her husband, Darrell; feeding the growing appetites of her boys, Ryan and Bryce; cheering them on at their sports pursuits, and cleaning up after them (smile).  Tameka has been a member of New Mercies since 2002.
