Basics
The Hunger Walk Run raises funds and awareness for hunger relief through a sponsored 5K event every spring. Whether you choose to walk or run, you’ll join thousands coming together to support our neighbors in need and celebrate the work that’s being done. The festival atmosphere before and after the Walk/Run includes food, games, and live music.
Benefit
The Hunger Walk Run generates valuable funds for the Food Bank and other local nonprofit organizations that operate and support food pantries, community kitchens, shelters, and other programs for people in need of food assistance. These benefiting partner organizations help recruit participants and receive a percentage of the funds raised.
Our Objectives
The Hunger Awareness Walk is the annual fundraiser that benefits the Atlanta Community Food Bank, in support of the Mercy Seed and various Food Pantries, Shelters & organizations across Metro Atlanta. This is Mercy Seed’s major fundraiser, receiving 80% of the proceeds raised by the Mercy Seed Team Walkers and Participants.
